This itinerary starts from Castelsangiovanni, which may be reached by train, and arrives in Fiorenzuola , where you can catch the return train.The long excursion may be divided into 3 petal-shaped itineraries, each of them indicating the points from which going back to Piacenza is possible. In the so called ‘province of castles’,we can’t but ride our bike (with gears and good brakes!) and, like modern dames and knights, ride along streets on the hills that reach medieval boroughs and fortresses, towers and castles lying in the green of the woods and vineyards on the Apennines of Piacenza. You’ll discover a healthy, cultural itinerary leading you to beautiful landscapes and places extraordinarily rich in historical and artistic evidence. From Rocca d'Olgisio to the castles of Agazzano,Rivalta, Gropparello, from the boroughs of Castell'Arquato and Vigoleno and the Cistercian Abbey of Chiaravalle della Colomba to the Pliocene mountains of the Placentianum period, to Stirone geological park and Travo archaeological Park, you’ll ride, fast or slow, along straight roads, wide bends or hard slopes, surrounded by the many castles, ancient churches and oratories,museums, traditional workshops, typical restaurants, hotels, farmhouses.An exciting journey on two wheels, which may last from a day to a whole....holiday!
